Dog Days of Denton 2013 -
20th year celeberation!
Get ready to celebrate the 20th year of Dog Days of Denton, a celebration of man’s best friend, on May 31, 2013 and June 1, 2013. Come out in the evening shade at the Dog Days of Denton Celebration “yappy” hour on Friday and again on Saturday morning and afternoon. Festival hours this year are Friday, May 31, 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Saturday, June 1, 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.. Festivities take place in the north end of Quakertown Park near the Denton Senior Center and swimming pool at 321 E. McKinney, just a few blocks northeast of the Denton County Courthouse-on-the-Square.Stay cool at the event in the Cool Zone - expanded for more comfort this year!
Best and formerly known as the Dog Days of Summer, the Dog Days of Denton Celebration is in its 20th year. During festival hours, attendees can enjoy a canine couture fashion show , live entertainment, demos and performances by canines and their trainers, “Glamfur” photos, canine contests, arts and craft vendors, pet care information, pet rescue groups and fantastic festival foods.

Some of our usual highlights include: new contests Canine Courture Costume Contest, Dancing with the Dog and How Obedient is Your Dog ; Texas Heat Flyball and Dallas Dog n’ Disc demonstrations; D.A.W.G. agility course with donations going to Leader Dog Project; Pet Tricks and Dog Singing contests; and the popular Spokesdog Pageant (must be entered in advance – see Forms & Application page). During the weekend check-out the hand-crafted arts/crafts for pets and people, pet care products and information, and general products and services for your home and pet. Attendees are welcome to bring pet food donations.

The event takes place rain or shine – in the event of rain, come prepared with an umbrella, wear old shoes and have a good time!
